How to Disable Windows Automatic Update?

I think you got a low bandwidth internet connection which makes you think like this. Windows automatic updates may eat up your monthly bandwidth limits. You can turn the automatic updates off by following my simple steps. If you want to disable all your software / application updates, this is not the way. If you want to do so,
go to the settings window of each and every application and turn automatic updates off. You may use some third party applications to do this job for you. However I am here to let you know the steps of disabling of windows updates only.
Right click in Computer / My Computer Icon and click ‘Manage’. You will get a computer management Window. In the left pane, click on ‘service and applications' and open ‘Services’. In the list of services, locate ‘Windows Update’ (In Windows7 in XP it may be automatic updates) and double click to open it. In the General tab, Set ‘Startup type’ as ‘Disabled’.  Windows will not get updated automatically after clicking OK button.
Reset it to ‘Automatic’ to undo the action and get automatic updates again.
